Market surveillance in general

Market surveillance of construction products is carried out by the Centre for Market Surveillance under the Danish Safety Technology Authority, which is located in Esbjerg.

Legislation on market surveillance

The Safety Technology Authority may order an economic operator that markets and sells unlawful construction products to recall such products or remove them from the market if they have already been incorporated into a building.

In addition, the Safety Technology Authority may report enterprises to the police so that fines can be imposed.

The Authority checks that construction products are CE marked and accompanied by the required documentation, and also checks that products in contact with drinking water, for example water taps, are approved under applicable rules.

You can find information about applicable market surveillance rules in the Danish Act on products and market surveillance and in the Executive Order on market surveillance of construction products.
